Reflection
Reflection is simply giving yourself the time and space to pause and check in with yourself. There are no right or wrong answers, just an opportunity to become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and what matters most to you.
Before you begin, my suggestion is to find yourself a journal or notebook. This page isn't something to scroll through, it's something to sit with. Give yourself permission to write down whatever comes up, without editing it or making it sound right. You can return here every week or month for a personal reflection check-in.
Where you are now
Sometimes we become so focused on just getting through that we forget to check in with ourselves.
Reflect on:
-
Who have I been looking after for so long that I've forgotten to ask what I need?
-
What do I do every day that everyone expects, but no one notices?
-
When did "I don't mind" and "yes" become my automatic answers, even when I meant no?
Looking back with compassion
Your past experiences have shaped you, but they do not have to define where you go next.
Reflect on:
-
What used to light me up, that I haven't made time for in years?
-
What's one thing about myself that has quietly changed over the years, that I never noticed happening?
-
What's something I was good at that I quietly gave up because there wasn't time for it?
Moving forward
Creating a new chapter begins with understanding what matters most to you.
Reflect on:
-
If I keep living exactly like this for another ten years, would I be happy?
-
What's one thing I've been meaning to get to for myself for far too long?
-
What am I waiting for before I start choosing myself, and is that a good enough reason to keep waiting?
If any of this stirred something up, that's not a coincidence. That's your awareness coming through.
